Greek Sage

Sage has a peppery flavor and is used in cooking to primarily season meat dishes, especially heavier ones like pork, game, or sausages. It can also enhance pies, soups, white meat, fish, and pasta. Sage pairs excellently with rosemary and can be used to flavor oil and vinegar. Caution is needed in its usage, as it’s easy to overpower dishes when using sage. Traditionally, sage is used as an infusion to combat colds, acting as a disinfectant and expectorant. Its properties make it suitable for oral care in cases of injuries, ulcers, pharyngitis, and gingivitis, especially when used for gargling with apple cider vinegar. Sage is believed to aid memory, intense sweating, stomach and bowel atony, and has diuretic effects. Its use is not recommended for epileptics and pregnant individuals.
